Central Texas has expereinced a scortching summer of record hot days, communities on mandatory water restrictions, and a lake that has all but become a pond. The rain over the last few weeks could not have been more needed. Last night we had pouring rain, and looks like we have rain for the next few days. If you have your home for sale, there are a few things you can do to help your home sell with our gloomy days ahead;

Open all of your blinds and keep some lights on around the house when you leave. In todays market, buyers want an abundance of natural light, large open rooms, and of course the hardwood floors, granite countertops, fresh paint, new carpet, and stainless steel appliances look so much better in natural light than artificial light.

Also, your local Realtor(R) Association should have a store that carries shoe slip covers. It is nearly impossible to always keep your house clean for showings, but the rainy season compounds an already frustrating situation.

Ask your Realtor to take new pictures of the exterior of your home as the lawns, shurbs, and trees are boucing back from the drout.

As always, feel free to call me if you have questions, need a CMA on your home, or just need to talk. Jack Stapleton 512.264.5115.
